Hotshot striker Altintop to quit Kaiserslautern
FRANKFURT, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Turkey international striker Halil Altintop, top scorer in the Bundesliga this season, has confirmed he will leave Kaiserslautern when his contract runs out in June next year.
'I will be going,' Altintop said on the club's website. 'Where I'm going to is still open.
'But anyone who knows me knows that I'll give everything to help keep Kaiserslautern meet the club's goals this season.'
The 22-year-old's spectacular form this season has been the only bright spot for Kaiserslautern, who are down in 15th place in the table.
Altintop has scored 10 league goals, putting him joint top of the goalscoring charts in the Bundesliga with Miroslav Klose.
Newspapers have speculated that he might join his brother Hamit Altintop at Schalke 04 next season.
