Marco Verratti 'happy' with choice to stay at PSG amid Barcelona interest

ESPN FC's French football expert Julien Laurens reveals his top candidate to take over for Unai Emery at Paris Saint-Germain.
Gab Marcotti reacts to reports linking Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte to PSG as Unai Emery appears to be nearing the end of his time in Paris.

Marco Verratti has pledged his future to Paris Saint-Germain and told Canal+ he hopes to be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at international level with Italy.

Verratti was linked with a move from PSG to Barcelona last summer, but the 25-year-old stayed in France and has helped his side win the Ligue 1 title.

"I'm very happy with the choice I made and I'm all the more convinced of that now," he said.

"I really want to stay here. I feel very good here and I want to win, which is what everyone expects."

Verratti, under contract until 2021, joined PSG from Pescara in 2012 and was coached by Ancelotti when he first moved to France.

He said he would love to work with the ex-Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus boss at international level.

"I started playing in the Champions League with him. He really helped me a lot in terms of my head," he added.

"He helped me outside of football, and he is still an important man for me. We'll see if he comes to Italy. I'd like him to take over the national team."
