Deportivo La Coruna sign Sulley Muntari

Deportivo La Coruna have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari until the end of the season.

The Spanish strugglers confirmed the signing of the 84-cap Black Stars international on their official website on Thursday following a successful trial.

The 33-year-old was given an opportunity to impress by new Depor coach Clarence Seedorf earlier in the month, with the duo having played together at AC Milan.

Former Portsmouth midfielder Muntari was also part of the Rossoneri squad during Seedorf's brief spell as coach in 2014.

Muntari attracted headlines last season after being initially banned for protesting racism in Italy, and said he was treated like a 'criminal' after being shown two yellow cards in a protest during a Serie A game while with Pescara.

The controversial box-to-box operator has also featured for Ittihad FC, Udinese and Sunderland, and was a Champions League winner with Internazionale in 2010.

Struggling Depor are currently 19th in the Spanish top flight, and face Espanyol at home on Friday.
