Tottenham, Everton tracking PSV Eindhoven's Steven Bergwijn - sources

Steven Bergwijn made the early move from Ajax to PSV.
PSV Eindhoven Steven Bergwijn is being tracked by both Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are among a host of Premier League clubs tracking PSV Eindhoven star Steven Bergwijn, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

A number of Europe's top clubs have been alerted to Bergwijn's potential with the attacker scoring five goals and creating six assists in 22 games to help the club go seven points clear at the top of the Eredivisie.

Sources have told ESPN FC that PSV are bracing themselves for offers for Bergwijn this summer with the Premier League looking likely to be the winger's next destination.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add to his attacking options as he looks to build a side capable of challenging for the Premier League title next term.

They have held a long-term interest in Bergwijn, 20, and they have enjoyed success in the past when raiding the Dutch market, having signed the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

Everton are also looking to strengthen their squad for next season after a below-par campaign this term, and Bergwijn fits the profile of their recent transfer policy in signing young talents they can try to develop.

Bergwijn, who can play on either wing, has represented the Netherlands from the under-17 through under-21 levels and is tipped to break into the senior squad in the near future.
