Mix Diskerud and Jack McInerney training with IFK Goteborg
Following his surprise signing for Manchester City, U.S. international Mix Diskerud has returned to train with Swedish club IFK Goteborg, where he'll be joined by another American, Jack McInerney.
Diskerud started 29 games at IFK during the 2017 season, scoring five goals, while on loan from New York City FC.
Last week, he formalised a move to City, NYCFC's sister club, on a four-and-a-half-year contract, though he is not expected to ever play or even train with the Premier League leaders.
Goteborg manager Mats Gren said he asked City if Diskerud could train with his team during preseason, addding that the club will "see what it means" toward a potential new loan.
McInerney, 25, has also joined the Goteborg camp. The former U.S. youth international has spent his entire eight-year career in MLS, but he's out of contract after appearing in just eight games for the LA Galaxy last season.
The forward was named to the U.S. squad for the 2013 Gold Cup but has not made an appearance in a game for the senior national team.
