Jose Mourinho: Man United won't buy attackers in summer transfer window

MANCHESTER -- Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he will not buy another attacking player in the summer after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez.

Mourinho watched Sanchez score on his home debut as United beat Huddersfield 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday, and afterwards he insisted the 29-year-old's arrival from Arsenal will be the last addition to his forward line ahead of next season -- even if Zlatan Ibrahimovic departs for LA Galaxy.

It would appear to rule out a move for Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann, Real Madrid's Gareth Bale and Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic, all of whom have been linked with transfers to Old Trafford.

Mourinho said: "We have Alexis, [Romelu] Lukaku, [Anthony] Martial, [Marcus] Rashford.

"Rashford can play on the left and the right, Alexis is exactly the same.

"All of them apart from Lukaku can play from behind as the second striker that's why I say that it's bad for you because you like to have things to write and speculate, especially in the summer, but I don't want attacking players so don't speak about attacking players that are coming here because nobody is coming here.

"We have [Juan] Mata, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Alexis, I don't want attacking players.

"Speculation in the summer you have to go to other areas, attacking players I am really happy.

"We have to improve not in the quality of the players. We have to improve in the dynamic in the team."

As well as Ibrahimovic, United could also lose Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini at the end of the season.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Mourinho will look to bolster his midfield in the summer with Jean Michael Seri at Nice one of the players linked.

The United manager picked Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay in his midfield against Huddersfield after deciding to leave Paul Pogba on the bench.

Pogba came on in the second half to play a part in the second goal and Mourinho revealed he had taken the demotion well.

He said: "His reaction was what you saw, coming to the pitch with great desire to play.

"At half-time he was already -- because I can analyse body language -- he was already at half-time showing he was ready.

"Ready with physio, he was already starting his warming up, he showed the way he took it in a very professional way."
