Liverpool's Harry Wilson signs deal, moves to Hull on six-month loan

Harry Wilson has not broken into the first-team.

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has signed a new deal at the club before going on loan to Hull City.

Wilson, 20, signed a new contract in the summer of 2016 but has been rewarded with a new one after impressing for the last 18 months.

A host of Championship clubs have been hoping to take Wilson on loan this January, but Liverpool were only willing to sanction a move once he signed a new deal.

Hull have now completed a deal with Liverpool for Wilson with Nigel Adkins desperate to bolster his squad as he looks to steer them to safety in the Championship.

"As soon as I found out that Hull City were interested I really wanted to make the move, so thankfully everything got done fairly quickly," said Wilson. "I feel that it's the right time for me to make this move, making the step into a first team changing room and into the Championship. It's a great challenge and one that I'm looking forward to."

Wilson made his first-team debut last January as a substitute in the FA Cup replay win over Plymouth and has been impressing for Liverpool at Premier League 2 level this term, but he is down the pecking order in Jurgen Klopp's star-studded line-up.

The skilful attacker became the youngest ever player to represent Wales when he made his debut as a 16-year-old back in 2013.
