Nakamura set for Primera Liga switch

TOKYO, June 11 (Reuters) - Japan's Shunsuke Nakamura said on Saturday he wanted to move to Spain after his Italian club Reggina received offers from two clubs.

Atletico Madrid and Deportivo Coruna have both made offers for the 26-year-old midfielder and he could leave Italy by the end of the month.

'It would be interesting to play in both Italy and Spain,' Nakamura said. 'It's important to be able to play so I will need to choose carefully.'

Reggina president Lillo Foti was quoted by Japan's Nikkan Sports as saying that Nakamura's transfer could be completed in the coming weeks.

'He can be a star in La Liga,' Foti said. 'We have received offers from Atletico and Deportivo. We want to take a decision by the end of June.'

Nakamura, who joined Reggina from Yokohama F-Marinos three years ago, would become the first Japanese player to move between Serie A and Primera Liga, two of the top European league championships.
