Liverpool's Marko Grujic wanted by Huddersfield, West Ham - source

Huddersfield Town are one of a number of clubs to have registered an interest in taking Liverpool's Marko Grujic on loan, a source has told ESPN FC.

Grujic has made just three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season, with Jurgen Klopp open to the idea of the midfielder temporarily leaving in order to receive regular first-team football.

Championship side Aston Villa are extremely keen on the Serbia international, while West Ham United have also expressed an interest, the source said.

Huddersfield are managed by David Wagner, who is considered to be one of Klopp's closest friends. But Liverpool's decision on where to sanction a loan move for Grujic will be determined on the basis where he is most likely to secure sustained game-time.

Grujic became a Liverpool player in 2015 from Red Star Belgrade in a £5.1 million deal, and Klopp is still confident his long-term future remains at Anfield.

Speaking last month, the Liverpool manager said: "I like the boy a lot. He has made progress like hell. His heading is outstanding, but he doesn't make the squad a lot which isn't the best thing for him, for sure.

"We will think about [a loan]. We always want to help the players. First of all, as a club we have to think about ourselves.

"I really see Marko in the future playing for Liverpool. But he's not playing in the moment so we have to see what we can do to make it more likely that he comes through in the near future."
