Hong Kong Premier League side Kitchee have announced the signing of former Manchester United and Uruguay striker Diego Forlan.

Forlan, who won the Golden Ball Award for the best player at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, arrives as Kitchee prepare for the group phase of the AFC Champions League next month.

Kitchee revealed his signing on their Facebook page on Thursday. He is due to arrive in Hong Kong on Jan. 10 and will be unveiled at a news conference the following day.

Forlan, 38, played 112 times for Uruguay and spent two seasons at Old Trafford before also representing Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

He last played professionally in India, where he spent a season with Mumbai City in 2016.
