Carlos Tevez wants to 'complete' Shanghai Shenhua contract - agent

Carlos Tevez's future is the subject of speculation.

Carlos Tevez's agent Adrian Ruocco says his client will honour his contract with Shanghai Shenhua amid reports he could return for a third stint at Boca Juniors.

Boca president Daniel Angelici had been hopeful of bringing Tevez back to the Bombonera one year after he left the club to sign a lucrative two-year contract with the Chinese Super League side.

Tevez can exercise a release clause this month but Ruocco says this will not happen.

He told Closs Continental radio: "Carlos' wish is to complete his contract. That is why it's two years. Boca is trying to mobilise him but that doesn't mean that his wish is to return.

"He is under contract with Shanghai Shenhua so if another club is in talks, it's unethical."

Boca have vehemently denied they have interfered or begun any negotiations with Tevez with a view to acquiring him.

The Argentine giants said in a statement: "Boca Juniors wants to clarify that it has not maintained any type of conversation with Carlos Tevez regarding his future signing and it has no knowledge that there exists any negotiation between the player and his current club regarding his contractual situation."

The 33-year-old Tevez returned to Buenos Aires last month after a difficult season at Shenhua, where injuries and a lack of fitness limited the former Manchester United player to just 16 league appearances.

Tevez played for Boca from 2001 to 2004 before embarking on a successful career in the Premier League and in Serie A.

He returned to his boyhood club in 2015, scoring 25 goals in 56 games.

Tevez was linked with a return to Boca this summer and admitted that he missed the club and the Xeineze fans.

Boca, who are top of the Superliga standings, three points clear of San Lorenzo, are looking to strengthen their attack after losing Argentina international striker Dario Benedetto to an ACL injury last month.

Argentine striker Ramon Dario Abila, nicknamed "Wanchope," will return to Boca before the end of the year after his six-month loan spell at Huracan.
