West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle want Richmond Boakye - sources

Richmond Boakye of Red Star Belgrade
Richmond Boakye has impressed for Red Star this season.

Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are considering moving for Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Both Newcastle and West Brom are in the market for striking reinforcements as they look to move away from the Premier League relegation zone.

Newcastle have scored just 16 goals in their 16 league games so far, with the Baggies managing only 12.

Boakye has impressed for Red Star this season, with the Ghana international scoring 14 goals in 13 league games.

Last month Chelsea were reported to be interested in the 24-year-old, who is under contract at Red Star until 2020.
