Manchester United have called American striker Kenny Cooper back from Oldham Athletic with more than two weeks remaining in his loan stint. The target man netted three times in nine appearances for the Latics, who released a club statement of gratitude to the Red Devils. He was originally slated for a one-month run with Oldham, but saw his stay extended two weeks ago. Cooper earlier had a season-long loan to Portuguese side Academica voided because the Old Trafford outfit were displeased with the player's lack of playing time, but no reason was given for Thursday's decision. "[He] has been recalled from Oldham, but we are not making any comment on it," Man Utd assistant press officer Karen Shotbolt stated to YA. Baltimore native Cooper rose to prominence with the reserves last season, scoring 17 goals.
