Kaklamanos doping ban reduced
BRUSSELS, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Greek forward Alexandros Kaklamanos, banned for five months by the Belgian FA in November following a positive test for cocaine, had the penalty reduced by one month on Thursday.
Kaklamanos tested positive for the banned recreational drug after playing for his Belgian club Standard Liege against FC Brussels on August 28.
He was immediately suspended by Standard and was sacked by the club in October when the B sample also proved positive.
The ban originally ran until April 18 but was redcued by one month by the Belgian FA's appeal committee.
A Belgian law prevents Kaklamanos from resuming his career in the country after his sacking for a doping offence.
