Sevilla announce moves for Sampdoria's Luis Muriel, Tigres Guido Pizarro

Sevilla are set to complete a double swoop for Sampdoria's Luis Muriel and Argentina midfielder Guido Pizarro as new boss Eduardo Berizzo continues rebuilding the squad.

On Saturday the La Liga club announced they had agreed a deal in principle to bring Colombian striker Muriel to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on a five-year contract, for a reported €20 million.

Former Udinese forward Muriel, 26, scored 13 Serie A goals for Samp last season and has previously played in Spain while on loan at Granada in 2010.

Berizzo's second capture is poised to be 27-year-old midfielder Pizarro, newly arrived in Andalusia to undergo a medical following four years with Mexican club Tigres.

A statement published on Sevilla's official website said Pizarro, boasting a sole Argentina cap following his senior debut against Bolivia in March, would soon join French defender Jordan Amavi as a new arrival.

Sevilla already have five Argentinians in their squad: Joaquin Correa, Walter Montoya, Nicolas Pareja, Gabriel Mercado and Ever Banega, who arrived from Inter Milan last month.
