Central Coast Mariners' Scott Galloway on trial with Willem II

Scott Galloway
Scott Galloway made 24 appearances for the Central Coast Mariners this season, scoring two goals.

Central Coast A-League defender Scott Galloway is off to Europe for a trial with Dutch top-flight club Willem II.

Galloway has flourished since joining the Mariners from Melbourne Victory early last season, starting in all but one game and attracting attention abroad.

The 22-year-old former youth taekwondo champion had been due to join Josep Gombau's Olyroos training camp this week but was given permission by Football Federation Australia and the Mariners to travel to Holland.

The Eredivisie finished last weekend with Australian Brad Jones' Feyenoord sealing their first title in 18 years.

Craig Goodwin was also in action, producing a huge performance for Sparta Rotterdam to help them avoid relegation playoffs.

Mariners coach Paul Okon has been in Europe on a scouting mission to try to shape his own squad ahead of his second A-League season.
