Marko Grujic remains an important player for Liverpool - agent

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic will not be joining Dinamo Zagreb on loan, the player's agent has said.

Zdravko Mamic, an advisor for the Croatian outfit, told Blic earlier this week that he was keen to sign the 20-year-old on a temporary deal.

Grujic moved to Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade in the summer, but has been limited to just five appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side this season.

However, Grujic's representative, Zoran Stojadinovic, has dismissed the idea of moving Grujic moving to Zagreb, insisting he is very much part of Klopp's first-team plans.

Marko Grujic was Jurgen Klopp's first signing as Liverpool manager.

Stojadinovic told MOZZART Sport that it is not realistic to suggest he could join a Croatian club.

"I have lots of respect for Mr. Mamic and everything he's done with Dinamo. His club keeps producing serious players and keeps competing in the [Europa League] ... but at this moment Grujic is not a realistic option for the Croatian champions.

"There's few reasons for that and the most important is the sporting one. At Liverpool FC they have big plans for Marko. Last winter they didn't even want to hear about anything to do with a possible loan, as he's their big project. They are very patient.

"So, I do respect Mamic, but I can after all make a joke about it. As a young lad I used to fantasise about Sofia Lauren and so can Zadravko fantasise about Grujic ... Everything started with fantasising and it will end there."

The Serbia international has been battling a tendon injury recently and is featuring for the under-23s side in an effort to build up his match fitness, impressing against Chelsea on Monday night at Prenton Park.
