Trotters close on Ben Haim deal
Bolton expect to tie up the loose ends of Tal Ben Haim's £150,000 move from Maccabi Tel Aviv before the end of the week.
The 22-year-old Israeli international held talks with Trotters boss Sam Allardyce yesterday and has already expressed his delight at sealing a three-year contract with the Lancashire outfit.
Bolton officials remain more cautious, insisting there will be no formal announcement of the deal until all aspects - including being granted a work permit - are done.
However, it now seems only a matter of time before Ben Haim, whose club side take on HJK Helsinki in a Champions League qualifier tonight, becomes the latest addition to Allardyce's cosmopolitan squad.
'It's a dream come true,' Ben Haim told Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz.
'From now on, everything is up to me.'
Allardyce has already added veteran duo Gary Speed and Les Ferdinand to the squad that finished an impressive seventh in the Premiership last season and is hopeful of sealing the capture of former Spanish skipper Fernando Hierro within the next 24 hours.
