Swiss Streller out for six months
BASEL, Switzerland, June 2 (Reuters) - Switzerland striker Marco Streller has undergone surgery on his broken leg and will be out of action for at least six months.
Vfb Stuttgart's Streller collided with defender Marco Zwyssig at Switzerland's Euro 2004 training camp in Freienbach on Sunday. He was operated on in Basel on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old forward, who looked certain to be part of coach Koebi Kuhn's final 23-man squad, said: 'Marco Zwyssig carries absolutely no blame... It was simply a most unfortunate collision.'
Servette striker Leonard Thurre has also been ruled out of Euro 2004 after tearing a calf muscle.
