Arsenal's Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin close to new deals - sources
Arsenal are in advanced talks with Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin over new contracts at the Emirates Stadium, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.
The French pair share the same agent and Arsenal have been in talks with Giroud and Coquelin's representative over fresh terms to extend their stays in North London.
Giroud's future at Arsenal has been the subject of conjecture after failing to hold down a place in Arsene Wenger's starting XI this season with Alexis Sanchez being used in a central striking role.
Giroud, who has started just two games this season, is entering the final 18 months of his contract at Arsenal, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger remains a big fan of the striker and is keen to secure his long-term future.
Midfielder Coquelin is under contract until 2019, but Arsenal are ready to offer him a two-year extension as reward for establishing himself as a key member of Wenger's side.
Coquelin has started 12 Premier League games so far this season despite the fierce competition for places in the Arsenal midfield.
