Sevilla complete signing of striker Wissam Ben Yedder from Toulouse
Sevilla have signed striker Wissam Ben Yedder to a five-year deal after completing his transfer from Toulouse.
Ben Yedder, 25, agreed a move on Saturday for a reported €9 million fee after scoring 17 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season.
The Spanish club announced the signing on Monday after Ben Yedder passed a medical.
Toulouse manager Pascal Dupraz said Arsenal were in the running to sign the striker.
"He could have gone to Arsenal, who are one of the best," Dupraz told Estadio Deportivo. "But Sevilla are also a big club and I think La Liga is perfect for him, because he is a technical player and very attacking."
The former France under-21 international Sevilla's eighth signing of the summer, following Luciano Vietto, Paulo Henrique Ganso, Franco Vazquez, Joaquin Correa, Matias Kranevitter, Pablo Sarabia and Hiroshi Kiyotake into the club.

But Sevilla also lost Ever Banega to Inter Milan, Jose Antonio Reyes to Espanyol, Grzegorz Krychowiak to Paris Saint-Germain, Ciro Immobile to Lazio and Kevin Gameiro to Atletico Madrid.
