Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez not seeking exit - Leverkusen's Schmidt
Bayer Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt says it is highly likely Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez will stay at the club this season.
Hernandez, 27, impressed following his move from Manchester United last summer, scoring 26 goals in 38 games in all competitions for the Bundesliga side.
The Mexico international's goals helped Leverkusen qualify for Champions League for a fourth consecutive campaign, but there has been speculation he could move on after just a year in Germany.
Asked about rumours Juventus had expressed an interest in Hernandez, Schmidt told Bild that nothing is certain in football but added: "Chicha does not look for a new club. The likelihood he stays is very high.
"I don't mind the rumours. In the end, it's a small honour for our work. What is important is to prevent our players leaving us. I know they always like to return [after the summer break]. And I also feel that."
Leverkusen squad manager Jonas Boldt had said in May that he was "100 percent" confident that Hernandez would stay.
