Vincent Janssen nearing Tottenham move from AZ Alkmaar - sources

Vincent Janssen is a Netherlands international.

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to complete the signing of AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen this week, sources have told ESPN FC.

Last week, Janssen accused AZ of blocking his "dream transfer" after the Dutch club rejected a bid of €18 million from Spurs but reports in the Netherlands claim a fresh offer will be accepted.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Janssen has already visited to Hotspur Way, Spurs' North London training centre, to discuss personal terms and that Spurs officials, including chairman Daniel Levy, have travelled to the Netherlands for transfer talks.

The Netherlands international, who scored against England at Wembley in March, finished last season as the Eredivisie's top scorer with 27 goals in 34 games and has said he is ready to make a "step up" this summer.

He has been outspoken in his desire to join Spurs -- who need competition for last season's Premier League top scorer, Harry Kane -- and the 22-year-old has reportedly rejected interest from other clubs, including Ligue 1 champions PSG, West Ham and Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.

AZ are keen to avoid any further public comments from Janssen and blocked a pre-planned appearance on Dutch Euro 2016 show Studio France on television station NOS.

Janssen's agent told NOS' website: "The club forbids Vincent's appearance at the NOS because of all the transfer perils surrounding him."

Meanwhile, Bournemouth new boy Lys Mousset has revealed he rejected a host of clubs, including Tottenham, to join the Cherries from Le Havre, in a deal worth a reported €6.5 million.

"I had a fair amount of offers, from Torino, CSKA Moscow, Tottenham and Sevilla but I felt Bournemouth [was the right club] as they were the club that were rising in terms of strength and wanted to progress," the forward told the Bournemouth Echo.

"I think that I will adapt quickly [to the Premier League]. At Bournemouth, there is a desire for me to progress.

"I have been told that they are going to make me work. It is a project that I liked. I felt a lot of confidence and respect for me and my family."
