Borussia Dortmund sign Turkey's Emre Mor from FC Nordsjaelland
Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Turkey international Emre Mor from FC Nordsjaelland for an undisclosed fee.
Mor, 18, has signed a five-year contract at the Westfalenstadion and becomes the fifth signing of the summer for Dortmund after the arrivals of Mikel Merino, Ousmane Dembele, Marc Bartra and Sebastian Rode.
A source close to Nordsjaelland told ESPN FC last week that the winger, who has been included in the Turkey squad for Euro 2016, was also a target for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, but BVB have won the race for services.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told the German club's official website: "Emre Mor is a young, highly talented and versatile attacking player with huge potential for development."
Mor, who made his Danish Superliga debut for Nordsjaelland in November, said he is excited to be making the switch.
"BVB are a great club in Europe with unique fans," he said. "I am looking forward to meeting my teammates and can't wait for the start of the season and my first match for Borussia."
He added on Instagram: "I am very honoured and happy to be a part of the Dortmund Family and to play in one of the biggest clubs in the World!
"I am looking forward to meet all my team mates, and all the fans! Big thanks to FCNordsjaelland and all the people around me! #EM9 #Dortmund #BVB #bigmoment #alhamdulillah
Nordsjaelland sporting director Carsten V. Jensen added: "I wish to congratulate Emre with this transfer, and it is also something that everyone in and around FC Nordsjaelland can be proud of.
"Everyone has put in a superb effort to support Emre and once again our club culture has proved to be really strong. It's great that we can attract talents with Emre's qualities to our academies, and then bring them on to the biggest clubs in Europe.
"This agreement will stand as the best in the club's history, and is obviously unique, because otherwise we would not have chosen to sell him before the European Championship finals.
"No one has been in any doubt that Emre possesses qualities that we rarely see in the Danish league and it has been a pleasure to have had the opportunity to see and experience them, up close.
"We believe that this will be the right move for Emre as Dortmund have followed him for some time and have presented Emre with a good plan, so that he can continue to develop his skills and become a more complete player. We will proudly follow him closely in the future and wish him all the best."
