Man United interested in Antoine Griezmann, Kevin Gameiro - source

Manchester United are monitoring developments at Atletico Madrid this summer as they maintain interest in forward Antoine Griezmann, while Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro is also a target, a source close to the Premier League club has told ESPN FC.

New United manager Jose Mourinho wants to bring in a speedy player that can play on the wing to facilitate fast counter-attacks and has identified Griezmann, 25, as a potential signing.

The France international is known to be a fan of the Red Devils and such a move has been suggested in the past.

However, any transfer could be dependent on whether or not Diego Simeone remains at Atletico.

Simeone suggested last week that he may not continue with the Spanish club and sources have told ESPN FC that the Argentine has been sounded out by third-party representatives for the Paris Saint-Germain job.

Antoine Griezmann enjoyed an impressive 2015-16 campaign with Atletico Madrid.

Should Simeone opt to move on then Griezmann may be open to a move to United, with sources close to Atletico having told ESPN FC that he would be willing to fully commit to the club should his coach stay in his role.

Griezmann has proved an inspired signing since joining Atletico from Real Sociedad in 2014, hitting 32 goals in the 2015-16 campaign as Los Colchoneros reached the Champions League final.

A United source, meanwhile, have told ESPN FC that the club have also been looking at Gameiro as a potential buy.

Gameiro, who joined Sevilla from PSG in 2013, struck 29 goals in all competitions last season and helped his side to Europa League glory.
