Dimitar Berbatov joins PAOK Salonika on free transfer
Dimitar Berbatov has signed for Greek club PAOK Salonika on a free transfer.
Berbatov, 34, released by Monaco in the summer, was believed to be set to complete a deadline day move to Aston Villa on Tuesday.
However, according to Sky Sports, an agreement over the former Bulgaria international's personal terms was unable to be reached and PAOK have now moved to snap him up.
PAOK, who currently sit 12th in the Greek Super League, confirmed in a statement that Berbatov has signed a one-year deal.
The striker, who played for Tottenham, Manchester United and Fulham while in the Premier League, spent 18 months with Monaco and helped the club reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League last season.
