Jefferson Farfan passes medical as Al Jazira move near completion - sources
Jefferson Farfan is on the verge of sealing his move to Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates after passing his medical, sources have told ESPN FC.
Last week, sources told ESPN FC that Al Jazira had lined up a move for Peru international Farfan as they looked to bolster their attacking options.
Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt confirmed on Monday that the German club had agreed a transfer fee in the region of €6 million with Al Jazira for the winger.
Farfan, who saw last season interrupted by a series of injuries, underwent his medical with former Bayern Munich club doctor Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt and passed without any problems.
Farfan is expected to arrive in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday to complete the formalities of the move.
The 30-year-old is set to sign a three-year deal at Al Jazira worth €10m a season to end his seven-year spell at Schalke.
