Everton near move for Norway keeper Orjan Nyland, sources say

Orjan Nyland is close to a move to the Premier League with Everton, sources said.

Everton are lining up a move for highly rated Norwegian international goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, sources have told ESPN FC.

Everton have been scouting Molde custodian Nyland for some time and even had him on trial in 2008.

The 24-year-old is regarded as one of the best young keepers in Europe after impressing for club and country during the last 18 months.

The 6-foot-4 keeper beat Manchester United's David de Gea to be named goalkeeper of the tournament at the Under-21 European Championships in 2013, after helping Norway to a bronze medal.

The likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have been linked with Nyland after keeping tabs on his progress at Molde.

Everton are in the market for a new goalkeeper with Roberto Martinez looking for a long term signing who will establish himself at Goodison Park for the foreseeable future.

First-choice keeper Tim Howard is currently out injured, while Joel Robles has so far failed to convince when given his opportunity, and Martinez is ready to make a move for Nyland knowing competition might be stiffer for him in the summer.

Nyland signed a five-year contract with Molde in September and the Norwegian club are thought to value him around 3 million pounds.
