Croatia striker Andrej Kramaric completes move to Leicester City
Croatia striker Andrej Kramaric has completed his move from HNK Rijeka to Leicester after being granted a work permit and will be available to face Stoke City at the weekend.
Kramaric, 23, is understood to have cost City 9.5 million pounds and signed a three-and-a-half-year deal. His lack of international experience, with only four caps to his name, meant a permit was not automatically granted.
But having played for Croatia from under-14 through to under-21 level and recently broken into the senior squad and scored goals, his permit was granted and he will wear the squad No. 40.
Leicester manager Nigel Pearson said: "We've watched Andrej for a long time so we knew we were signing a player that could add great quality to English football and I'm delighted that the relevant authorities have seen the situation the same way.
"He's an extremely talented young footballer and I'm delighted we've been able to finalise his signing. He is potentially a very important addition for us."
Kramarić: "The people that I have met here, I feel that they live for football. I really think I will enjoy it here." #kramariclcfc- Leicester City (@OfficialFOXES) January 16, 2015
