Guillermo Ochoa joins Malaga

Guillermo Ochoa is on his way to Malaga after a spectacular World Cup for Mexico.

Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has earned a move to Malaga after his fine performances for Mexico at the World Cup.

Ochoa's contract at Ajaccio expired at the end of last season, and with the French club relegated to Ligue 2, Ochoa was eager to find a new club.

Malaga, who finished 11th in the Primera Division last season, have moved to sign Ochoa, 28, and will introduce him at a news conference on Friday.

Guillermo Ochoa's heroics in goal is one of the many reasons why Mexico is in the last 16 of the World Cup.
Guillermo Ochoa's heroic performance at the World Cup has led to a new deal with Malaga.

Ochoa became a phenomenon at the World Cup, making six saves in a 0-0 draw against hosts Brazil.

He conceded only one goal in three games in the group stage before conceding twice in the final minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Netherlands in the round of 16.

Ochoa also led the French top flight in saves in each of the past three seasons.
