Falcao plays down Monaco exit talk

Radamel Falcao has denied having any contact with other clubs despite reports gathering pace of a move to Real Madrid.

It has been speculated that Falcao will follow compatriot James Rodriguez to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with AS reporting that Madrid have offered to take the player on loan for a season for 12.5 million euros as well as paying his salary, with an option to sign him permanently next year for an additional 33 million euros.

However, the 28-year-old Colombia international -- who recently said he still believed in the Monaco project -- insisted he is unaware of any concrete interest from the European champions.

"I still have a contract with Monaco," he told Sic, according to El Tiempo. "I know nothing about proposals from other teams."

Karim Benzema and Jese are the only strikers at Madrid following the departure of Alvaro Morata to Juventus, but Carlo Ancelotti is apparently seeking a third option to help his side challenge on six fronts next season.

Falcao is reported to be the club's main target, and he is back in full training at Monaco following the cruciate ligament injury that ruled him out of the World Cup and on course for a return before the new Ligue 1 campaign.

"He has a privileged physique, with quick tissue regeneration," fitness coach Joaquin Juan told AS. "I've treated a lot of elite sportsmen, but this lad has something special. He has spectacular genetic material."
