Jan Vertonghen in demand - agent

Jan Vertonghen is said to be attracting interest from several clubs.

Jan Vertonghen's agent has said the Tottenham defender is attracting interest from several clubs but refused to confirm whether Barcelona were among the interested parties.

- Lloris agrees new Spurs contract

Vertonghen, 27, joined Spurs from Ajax in 2012 and, while he said at the end of the season that he intended to stay at White Hart Lane, there has still been speculation linking him with a move.

Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo has claimed the Belgium international is back on Barca's radar as Luis Enrique continues to freshen up his squad, but his agent, Mustapha Nakhli, refused to confirm whether there had been contact.

"Several teams are interested in Jan," he told Het Nieuwsblad. "I cannot confirm or deny whether Barcelona are one of them."

Asked whether his client would prefer to stay or go, Nakhli added: "Tottenham is not a small club. It's too soon to give them an answer. Several clubs have registered their interest in Jan. We'll see."
