Coman turned down Arsenal for Juve

Kinglsey Coman was inspired to join Juventus by French greats Platini, Zidane and Trezeguet.

Kingsley Coman turned down moves to Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle to join Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain.

- Transfer Talk: Live blog

Coman, 18, became the youngest player to feature for PSG in Ligue 1 when he made his first-team debut in February 2013.

Though he made just a further two top-flight appearances under Laurent Blanc last season, the attacking midfielder was a regular participant in training sessions with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, and made his France under-21 debut last month.

The French champions had offered him a professional contract, but Coman rejected that in favour of a move to Turin, and told Corriere dello Sport he had had his pick of destinations, including the Gunners.

"Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham were interested in me," the teenager said. "But I chose to join Juventus because of their history. It was the club of Platini, Zidane and Trezeguet."
