Hull City confirm signing of Tom Ince

Hull City have clinched the signing of England under-21 international winger Thomas Ince.

Ince, 22, began talks at the KC Stadium last week and has now signed a two-year deal -- becoming Hull manager Steve Bruce's third summer signing.

Ince, who had been in talks with Inter Milan earlier in the summer, was out of contract, but Blackpool will receive compensation because he is under 24.

He was also linked with Stoke and Hull believe they fought off competition from several other Premier League clubs for Ince, the son of former England captain Paul.

He is the second winger Bruce has recruited this summer following the seven million pound arrival of Robert Snodgrass from Norwich.

The FA Cup finalists have also tied up a deal for midfielder Jake Livermore, who spent last season on loan at the KC Stadium from Tottenham.

Ince admitted the prospect of working with Bruce was a key factor in his decision to join the Tigers telling Sky Sports News: "I've known Steve Bruce on a personal and professional level for quite some years, being in a former team with my old man.

"I also know a lot of the players so it felt like home to me. I didn't feel like a stranger walking into the dressing room, into the ground. The staff there, the people on the board, made me feel ever so welcome and sometimes you have to go with your heart.

"To be given an opportunity to play again in the Premier League, it's a fantastic opportunity for me and one that I'm relishing. You walk in and there's a strong British core throughout the team.

"The manager's bringing in some big names who have Premier League experience and we want to try and build on last season. The cup run was fantastic for the club. Now we have to look at having a stronger Premier League position, the Europa League is a fantastic achievement as well.

"There's a lot going on at the club at the minute and that shows it's moving in the right direction.''

Ince began his career at Liverpool but never made a senior appearance for them and played for his father on loan at Notts County and then for Blackpool.

He scored 33 goals in 113 games for the Seasiders but, after his father's sacking as manager, spent the final four months of last season on loan at Crystal Palace.

However, he only started five Premier League games for the Eagles.
