Julian Schieber makes Hertha switch

Julian Schieber celebrates netting against Manchester City
Schieber was a Champions League final substitute for Dortmund.

Hertha Berlin have signed Borussia Dortmund attacker Julian Schieber, while Hamburg have completed the signing of Pierre-Michel Lasogga from Hertha.

On Thursday, Hertha and Dortmund reached agreement over the transfer of attacker Schieber, 25, who scored only six times in 56 appearances.

Kicker reported that Hertha will pay around three million euros for the player, who said he had enjoyed his time at Dortmund and added: "I've learned a thing or two from Jurgen Klopp, trained every day at the highest level and played in a Champions League final [as a substitute].

"These are things that will stay with me. We are parting on amicable terms, and that makes me very happy."

Hertha sporting director Michael Preetz told the club's official website he was delighted that Schieber, who has signed a four-year deal, had joined, describing him as "a forceful striker who is dangerous."

Meanwhile, Hamburg wrapped up a permanent deal for Lasogga, who scored 13 goals in 20 games last season to help the club secure Bundesliga survival.

Kicker said he would cost in the region of 8.5 million euros, with a contract until 2019.
