Juan Iturbe switch to Juve hits snag

Iturbe had expressed hope that the deal would happen soon.

Juan Iturbe's proposed move from Hellas Verona to Juventus appears to have run into problems, with the Serie A champions reluctant to increase their offer for him.

Hellas want 30 million euros for the Argentine attacking midfielder, but the Bianconeri's most recent -- and seemingly final -- bid is 25 million euros.

That does not appear to be enough for the Verona club to give permission for the 21-year-old to hold talks with the Serie A champions.

On Thursday, Iturbe tweeted that the deal was on the brink of completion, saying only a little more patience was needed.

But although Juve have brought in six million euros from the sale of Mirko Vucinic to Al-Jazeera, they remain reluctant to pay what they feel would be an excessive fee.

Meanwhile, Juve youngster Domenico Berardi, who spent last season on loan at Sassuolo, will stay there for one more campaign before returning to Turin.

"We're delighted by Juve's interest, particularly coach [Antonio] Conte who has shown that he rates the lad highly," the 19-year-old's agent Simone Seghedoni told

"Considering he's only 19, though, I think the best option for him is the one they have ultimately agreed upon. I think everybody involved has worked together in Domenico's best interests."
