Denis Cheryshev in Villarreal loan

Cheryshev is set to be unveiled as a Villarreal player for 2014-15.

Real Madrid's Russia international winger Denis Cheryshev will spend next season on loan at Villarreal, the club have announced on Twitter.

The news comes after Sevilla, where he had spent last season on loan, announced that he would be returning to the Bernabeu in the summer.

Cheryshev, who has rarely appeared in the Real Madrid first team, will undergo a medical and a Villarreal statement said: "Villarreal and Real Madrid have reached an agreement in principle for the loan of the forward Denis Cheryshev to wear yellow in the 2014-15 season. The date of the player's presentation will be confirmed in the coming days."

He was named as one of the 30 players in Fabio Capello's provisional Russia squad for the World Cup, but was not included in the final 23 for Brazil.
