Wolfsburg reject Mario Mandzukic link

Mario Mandzukic will not return to his former club Wolfsburg from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window, a board member from Die Woelfe club has told kicker.

- Transfer Talk: Suarez exit rumours re-emerge

Mandzukic, 28, is contracted to Bayern until 2016 but is set to leave this summer after failing to establish himself under Pep Guardiola.

The Croatia international, who scored twice in the 4-0 rout of Cameroon on Wednesday, also claimed he is not suited to play in Guardiola's preferred style of football.

He has been linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid among others, but one place he is not going is Wolfsburg.

"Mandzukic will not return to Wolfsburg," Stephan Gruhsem told the German football magazine and "emphatically" rejected rumours of an impending transfer.

According to kicker, Mandzukic and the club had been in contact about a possible return for the striker, who scored 20 goals in 56 matches from 2010 to 2012, but talks did not reach an informal stage.
