Blanc: Marquinhos staying at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has insisted that Barcelona target Marquinhos is going nowhere.

The centre-back joined PSG in a big-money deal from Roma last summer but struggled to find a way into the first team with Thiago Silva and Alex blocking his route.

Alex has since joined AC Milan on a free transfer but the Ligue 1 champions have brought in David Luiz from Chelsea, who will likely partner Thiago Silva in the heart of defence next term.

Barca are reportedly interested in Marquinhos following Carles Puyol's retirement, but Blanc has no plans to allow the 20-year-old to leave the Parc des Princes any time soon.

"He will stay, [I'm] sure and certain," Blanc told RMC. "What interests me is to keep the same squad, whilst bringing in one or two others."

With Luiz believed to have cost PSG in the region of 50 million pounds, Blanc insists players will be sold to help balance the books.

The French club are being closely watched by UEFA, having been punished by the governing body for breaching financial fair play rules, but the former Bordeaux boss says they are still looking for new recruits, with Barcelona full-back Dani Alves having caught the eye.

"There will certainly be departures," he said. "Dani Alves is one of the best players in his position. We have already brought in David Luiz, who is a very good signing. We will certainly sign one or two more players."
