Guilherme Siqueira has become Atletico Madrid's third signing of the summer after agreeing to move from Granada.
Atletico made the announcement on their official website and the 28-year-old Brazilian defender will join goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya who signed from Getafe and striker Angel Correa who arrived from San Lorenzo.
Siqueira, who spent last season on loan at Benfica and helped them to win a domestic double, had spells with Inter Milan and Udinese before joining Granada in 2010.
Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero is confident the player will improve the Spanish champions' squad next season.
"Siqueira's arrival increases competition with the side," he said. "He's a very good player from set-pieces and a penalty taker. He has attacking qualities, great defensive virtues and excellent awareness."
