Former Inter Milan, Roma, Fiorentina and Parma forward Adriano has set his sights on a return to Italy.

The 32-year-old has been released by Brazilian club Atletico Parnanaense, but he has no intention of calling an end to his career.

"I'd love to come back -- I love Italy," he told Sky Sport Italia. "I want to play for a club who can help me get my head straight, even if that will all depend on the surroundings and the squad."

Adriano left Roma and Italy in 2011 after failing to make his mark for the Giallorossi in just one season, which saw him feature in just 355 minutes of action.

He joined the Eternal City club after returning to form during a spell with Flamengo, but he was never able to reach the levels he had shown during his years with Inter and Parma.

The striker now wants to be granted another chance, saying he will accept being paid on appearances if needs be.

"I've done it before," he said. "I know that I would have to prove to a club and their fans that I really have changed, but I'm open to anything because believe me, I really have changed."

Adriano, who won three Serie A titles with the Nerazzurri, has scored only one goal in official matches since leaving Roma in 2011.
