Angel Di Maria keen to stay at Real

Angel Di Maria has said he wants to stay at Real Madrid but is aware that the club might sell him this summer.

- Di Maria grateful to Ancelotti
- Rigg: Real shouldn't sell Di Maria

Di Maria, the man of the match as Real beat city neighbours Atletico 4-1 in the Champions League final last weekend, has been the subject of increasing transfer speculation over the last 12 months.

When Gareth Bale arrived at Bernabeu last summer, there were widespread reports that the Argentina winger would be moved on, while the January window brought stories that Madrid president Florentino Perez would listen to offers for him.

Di Maria, 26, who has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham, told Marca he felt his future would be decided after the World Cup.

"I am very relaxed, now I am only thinking about the World Cup," he said. "I believe I am in good form. We will see then what happens with Madrid, if they want me to stay or if I will leave the club."

He stressed that he was keen to stay at the Bernabeu, adding: "I am very happy. I had a great year and the fans recognised that -- I always had their support.

"Although you want to stay, sometimes you cannot because the club wants another player, or to make more signings, and needs to sell -- and somebody must go. But I am very happy."

Talking about the transfer speculation that surrounded him last summer, he revealed: "It hurts you when you are trying to always do your best for a club and then it comes out that you might be going to Tottenham.

"These are difficult moments for a player, and it is difficult to keep out of it. But things went well. I took a good decision [to stay] and was European champion."
