Pinto backs Bravo for Barcelona

Departing Barcelona goalkeeper Jose Pinto has backed the club's reported bid to sign Claudio Bravo from Real Sociedad as a replacement.

Season Review: Barcelona

This summer sees big changes in the goalkeeping department at the Camp Nou, with former first choice Victor Valdes and his long-term back-up Pinto both leaving.

Barca have already brought in Marc Andre ter-Stegen, 22, from Borussia Moenchengladbach for 12 million euros, and promoted last season's Barca B custodian Jordi Masip, 25, to the senior side.

However, Blaugrana sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is reported to be looking for a more experienced third senior goalkeeper, with El Diario Vasco claiming that personal terms have already been sealed with Chile international Bravo, 31, although Barca and La Real have yet to agree a fee.

Pinto told Catalan station TV3 that Bravo -- who is good with the ball at his feet and has experience playing behind a high defensive line -- could adapt to the particular demands of being Barca keeper.

"I see Claudio Bravo as a great keeper," Pinto said. "The style of Barcelona is different and you need a keeper who can adapt and who wants to learn. Whoever comes in, needs to be motivated to keep learning because you have to adapt to the style of Barca."

Bravo has a contract with his current club until 2017, and a release clause of 30 million euros, a figure which Barca are unlikely to pay. AS reports that La Real are keen to try and include deals for Blaugrana pair Cristian Tello and Jonathan Dos Santos in any potential transfer.
