Bartomeu: Sanchez part of Barca plans

Alexis Sanchez celebrates after scoring Barcelona's leveller at Sevilla.
Alexis Sanchez scored 23 goals in 54 appearances for Barca in 2013-14.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has denied reports that the Catalan club wish to sell attacker Alexis Sanchez to raise funds for a summer shake-up.

The impending transfer window is expected to see a number of big names come and go at the Camp Nou, with new Blaugrana coach Luis Enrique planning for a newly invigorated side next season.

Chilean winger Sanchez is seen as one of the club's most saleable assets -- and has been widely linked with a move to Serie A champions Juventus for around 25 million euros.

Premier League sides Liverpool and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in a player who has scored 47 goals in 140 games since joining Barca from Udinese for 37 million euros three years ago.

However, Bartomeu told Chilean paper El Mercurio that Alexis remained part of his club's plans for the 2014-15 campaign.

"You read so many things here these days, during the summer window, that it is better not to comment on everything," the Camp Nou chief said. "[But Alexis] has a contract, he is a player with our team, he is here and has played an excellent season with Barcelona.

"Obviously, he is part of our plans for next season, we have always needed him, he is one of the very valued players in this institution."

However Bartomeu would not be drawn on speculation that Barca are interested in two further Chile internationals in Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and Real Sociedad keeper Claudio Bravo.

"I can just talk about players who are in our squad," he said. "These are just market rumours."
