Loew: No worries over Bayern trio

If Germany wish to hoist their fourth World Cup trophy, they will first need to emerge from a loaded Group G.

Germany head coach Joachim Loew has said he remains confident that injured Bayern Munich trio Bastian Schweinsteiger, Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer will be fit for the World Cup.

Some commentators have said Germany's pre-tournament training camp in South Tyrol resembles a "sickbay" -- but, speaking at a news conference on Monday, Loew asked for patience and perspective.

"I don't see any problem in the long run. They will be fit throughout the tournament and I don't have any worries at all," he told reporters. "I'd like to think that all of them can do the full [training] workload in a couple of days.

"Philipp Lahm will resume light running tomorrow. We will need to decide from day to day and be patient. Manuel Neuer will work in rehab for a few more days."

Both Neuer and Germany skipper Lahm suffered injury setbacks as Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to win the DFP Pokal final earlier this month.

Schweinsteiger has been out of action since suffering a knee injury in early May, but Loew said: "Bastian Schweinsteiger has already worked on his stamina, and he has been able to catch up.

On June 2, Loew will cut his current 26-man squad down to the final 23 for Brazil, and said the climate in the host nation would have an effect on the style of football and players he chose to use.

"It's not only warm, but the humidity is also enormous. That makes a difference. We will need determined players who accept the situation and do not complain," he added.

With Sven and Lars Bender -- along with Ilkay Gundogan -- ruled out through injury, and Sami Khedira, Schweinsteiger and Lahm not 100 percent fit, Loew hinted at the possible inclusion of Borussia Moenchengladbach player Christoph Kramer in the final squad.

"He's got a good chance of making the World Cup squad," the coach said. "He does a lot of running in central midfield, he's fit and has good control of the ball. He's made a good impression so far."
