El Shaarawy could leave Milan - agent

Stephan El Shaarawy should make a positive impact under Seedorf.
El Shaarawy's injury problems have cost him a place at the World Cup.

Stephan El Shaarawy's agent has not ruled out a transfer for his client this summer given the many changes expected to take place at AC Milan.

Transfer Talk: The Dutch Connection

El Shaarawy missed most of the campaign due to injury and was powerless as the Rossoneri missed out on a place in Europe for the first time in 16 years. The 21-year-old was subject to a bid of "more than 30 million euros" last summer, but chose to stick with Milan having helped them qualify for the Champions League.

Should a similar bid be tabled this summer, Milan are unlikely to turn it down, especially since they cannot offer the Italy international European football. His agent, and brother, says a move cannot therefore be ruled out.

"Let's see what Milan have in mind for the transfer market," said Manuel El Shaarawy to Milannews.it.

"Stephan is certainly a big player and he wants to stay at Milan, but there are many changes being made, starting with who the coach is going to be. We'll see.

"He's always been a Milan fan and his intention is to stay, but we've got to evaluate the situation. Let's see what Milan decide."

Having scored 16 goals last season -- the majority in the first half of the campaign -- El Shaarawy was restricted to just six appearances this term due to a fractured foot. As a result, he also lost his place in the Italy squad for the World Cup.

"That upset him," said Manuel El Shaarawy. "He had always hoped he would make it, but he was unable to play regularly. If he'd played a bit more, then maybe he would have at least made the 30-man squad, and he would then have made [Italy coach Cesare] Prandelli's decision hard at Coverciano.

"Going to the World Cup as a 22-year-old would have been a major event. He wasn't called up purely because he wasn't able to play in the past few months, not because he'd lost his place. It's just a fitness issue, but he'll have other chances. If he'd come back a month earlier, he would easily have been able to give it a go."
