AC Milan planning significant signings

FC's Gab Marcotti discusses Mario Balotelli's future with AC Milan and gives his opinion on Clarence Seedorf's possible departure from the club.

AC Milan vice president and commercial manager Barbara Berlusconi has told Sky Sport Italia that investments will be made this summer in order to avoid a repeat of a "very disappointing season" just ended.

Paul: Milan end with win, but miss out on Europe

The Rossoneri finished the campaign in eighth position, missing out on European football for the first time in 16 years.

"We have a moral duty to get straight to work on ensuring Milan return to the levels they deserve," Berlusconi said after cutting the tape to mark the official opening of the club's new headquarters in Milan on Monday.

That can be done by strengthening the playing staff, and Berlusconi says her father and club owner Silvio has every intention of doing so.

"Our family have decided to invest to bridge the gap to Europe's other top clubs," Berlusconi added to Mediaset television. "Milan have got to start winning again -- we've got to be competitive. In the coming days, my father and [general manager] Mr [Adriano] Galliani will meet to decide on a roadmap to become great again."

That meeting will also determine the future of coach Clarence Seedorf, and whether Kaka will be staying next season. "He's a great player and I hope he stays to help make Milan great again," added Berlusconi.

According to Galliani, there are few doubts about Kaka remaining. "Of course we'll keep hold of him," he told Milan Channel. "He's 99.99 percent certain to stay with us."
