Tomas: Barca must move on

The Germany goalkeeper sealed his move to Barca on Monday, bringing an end to his five-year stay at Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Ter Stegen said on the Bundesliga club's official website: "I played 18 years for Borussia. It's a strange feeling. I know I'll miss the club, but I'm of course excited.

"I'm really grateful to Borussia. I have lived so much here, especially many beautiful things."

As well as confirming the 22-year-old's arrival, Barca announced that fellow shot-stopper Pinto will part company with the side this summer.

Barca said in a statement: "The board of directors want to publicly thank the professionalism and dedication of Jose Manuel Pinto throughout his time at the club."

On Monday, Barcelona also announced Luis Enrique as their new manager and confirmed Lionel Messi has signed a new contract.
