Mbia to decide future after World Cup

Stephane Mbia will wait until after Cameroon's World Cup campaign before deciding where his future lies.

Stephane Mbia celebrates his winner with his Sevilla teammates.
Stephane Mbia's late goal at Valencia secured a place in the Europa League final for Sevilla.

Mbia, 28 next Tuesday, will form part of the Sevilla side that will take on Benfica in Wednesday's Europa League final in Turin.

Though his decisive late goal in the semifinal second leg against Valencia, which earned his club their place in the final, has earned him iconic status in Andalucia, Mbia told L'Equipe he may explore other avenues in the summer.

"I have a lot of respect for this team, which has put me centre stage, but we'll have to see what happens after the World Cup."

Though QPR are potentially just 90 minutes away from a Premier League return, Mbia added it was unlikely he would seek to extend the two-year deal he signed with the west London club when he joined them from Marseille in 2012.

"In fact, I've been a free agent as of January. QPR had an option for two more years, but also in that case, I had to agree, and given that we didn't part on good terms..."
