Rummenigge: Nobody wants to leave

ESPN FC's Mark Donaldson discusses Bastian Schweinsteiger's injury and how it is being handled leading up to the World Cup.

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said no player has asked to leave the club in the summer, while Javi Martinez -- linked with a switch to either Barcelona or the Premier League -- has stressed that he is happy at the Bundesliga champions.

Rummenigge said only Bayern would decide on departures after speculation in the German media suggested possible exits for stars such as Thomas Mueller or Bastian Schweinsteiger following the Champions League semifinal defeat to Real Madrid.

Early in May, Rummenigge told the players that if anyone was unhappy at the club "he should come to my office... then we'd need to talk about it."

But speaking at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, he said no player had taken up the offer and he did not believe anyone would be leaving the club.

"I'd like to think they all feel fine here," he added. "To be honest, it would also surprise me -- as a player, I'd never have the idea to leave the club now. At the end of the day, the club will exclusively decide how the squad will look next season. But decisions will only be made after the [DFB Pokal] final on Saturday."

Speaking to Sport Bild, Spain international Javi Martinez, who has struggled for playing time amid a series of niggling injuries, said he was happy.

"I am very satisfied here in Munich -- with the city, with the club, with my colleagues," he told the German sports weekly. "My hope is that I can play here for many more years.

"I am not satisfied with my season, because I had too many injuries. In my whole career, I have never missed as many games as this year. I hope luck favours me more next year."

Asked about the Barcelona link, he answered: "I only think about staying here. In the papers I've read that Pep is happy with me. Also the club, I believe.

"I had good talks with the club board, and leaving was never a topic. If Bayern want me to stay, I will stay, and I'd like to think that this is case."
